Principal's Message
Dear Fern Creek Families:
The 2008-2009 school year will be a wonderful celebration for our Fern Creek Family. We will be wishing each other well, and we will be wishing Fern Creek a Happy 60th Birthday! That’s right! Fern Creek has been a “Proud Tradition of Excellence” for 60 years.
As we celebrate our 60th birthday, we will also be celebrating each member of our Fern Creek Family. We welcome you to Fern Creek and hope that you will visit us often. Fern Creek is an excellent school because our children, our parents, our teachers, our staff, and our community work together to provide a safe learning environment for all.
The teachers and staff at Fern Creek set high academic and behavior expectations for all of our children. We celebrate our successes as we challenge and enrich each child. We use consistent progress monitoring assessments to guide our instruction and to provide the appropriate interventions when necessary. We look at each child as an individual and differentiate our instruction in order to meet his/her needs. As we strive to provide the best instruction for each child, we believe strongly that this instruction has to be supported in the home and by the community. When we all work together, our children have the best opportunity to reach their full potentials. We know our children are our future; and we see them as doctors, lawyers, scientists, administrators, managers, and even presidents.
It is an honor and a privilege to be serving you and your children as the principal of Fern Creek Elementary. I look forward to sharing the 2008-2009 school year with each of you and working with you to ensure that each child has a safe and successful learning experience.
