Partners in Education
Partners In Education (P. I. E.)
Partners in Education (P. I. E.) is a program which links businesses and community organizations with schools in a mutually beneficial partnership. All participants in a partnership benefit from sharing human and material resources. A special “thank you” to John Rinehart, Raymond Larsen and Sarah Stack for their great efforts and undying persistence and commitment in facilitating the “School of Promise” task force. This group obtained funding to hire a “mentor coordinator” to assist Fern Creek Elementary School in achieving their mission. Also, Glatting Jackson’s funding of a Reading Garden behind our kindergarten wing which will be created this year. Plus, the hours and hours of volunteer time that they dedicate to mentoring and tutoring our children. We couldn’t do it without them!
PARTNERS IN EDUCATION
A partnership is a mutually supportive arrangement between a business and a school, a district program a learning community. A written agreement, in which the partners commit themselves to specific goals and activities intended to benefit students, is completed to formalize the partnership.
- Partnerships are a powerful way to enhance the learning environment and address the goals and objectives in your school improvement plan.
- Partnerships are collaborative efforts to achieve mutually agreed upon goals and objectives by matching community resources to identified needs of the school. In meeting these goals and objectives, school resources are also matched to the identified needs of a particular partner, such as a business, organization or community group.
